About Us
Following the winding up of the former Northern Timber Association, the remaining funds of that organisation were transferred to the Northern Timber Association Charitable Trust.
The purpose and objective of the Northern Timber Association Charitable Trust is to advance the education of those who are, or wish to be, employed in the New Zealand timber industry.
1. For that purpose we will consider all of the following, but not limit consideration to these only:
2. Supporting other registered charitable entities from time to time. These may include the likes of:
To further our objectives we will seek, accept and receive grants and donations for all and any of the purposes and objectives of the Trust.
Due consideration of the above will enable the elected Trustees to appropriately distribute the available funds for the benefit of timber industry participants throughout the geographical regions covered by previous membership of the former Northern Timber Association.
Distribution of the funds will be decided by the Trustees upon receipt of online (or written) applications from various timber-industry-related sources who may request financial support specifically for educational and training purposes.
The amount of funding to be distributed each year will be capped at a level yet to be determined by the Trustees and such amount will be solely at their discretion. This will ensure funding will continue to be available for some years ahead.

- Funding, promoting and supporting education that will be of benefit to the timber industry.
- Establishing scholarships and incentives for education that will be of benefit to the timber industry.
- Providing scholarships for students studying for courses and degrees in Timber and associated disciplines at Universities and Technical Institutes. The availability of such scholarships will be brought to the attention of the general public through those Universities and Technical Institutes, and also by advertising companies involved in the timber industry.
- Funding and/or supporting selected Building and Construction Industry Training Organisations training courses that will benefit the future of the timber industry in New Zealand.
- Funding and/or supporting selected Competenz or other like organisations' training courses that will benefit the future of the timber industry in New Zealand.
- Other purposes considered beneficial to the community.

- Outward Bound
- Spirit of Adventure
- Rotary Young Leadership Award
- Auckland Timber Industry Club (Hoo-Hoo)
- New Zealand Timber Museum
- Youth organisations
